The headquarters of Joolz is located in an old factory in Amsterdan North. To reach the office, you have to take 'het pondje' if you come from the central station.

GREEN OFFICE

The first thing you notice when you enter the building is a greenhouse with tropical plants. The headquartes used to be at the canals but as the company was growing and the office at the canals getting smaller, they needed to find a new place. The architect took the wishes of the employees into account because Joolz wanted to design a place where creativity would be stimulated and a design that would show what Joolz stands for as a brand. More perks of this decor is that it creates a good atmosphere in the workplace and that everybody get to know each other better through the different open spaces.

HAPPY EMPLOYEES

A healthy mind in a healthy body. That is a spell that is also important at Joolz. Every employee can sport there with a sport coach. Their are sessions in the morning and in the evening so you choose what suits you best. It's very fun to do with colleagues because you see each other out of the office atmosphere.

In addition to a sports room, there is also a good lunch to keep the employees healthy. The lunch is always organic and very diverse. Joolz works together with a local farmer and a caterer to ensure that everybody gets good and healthy food.

Besides the gym, healthy eating and the beautiful workplace, Joolz has other ways to keep the employees happy. Every Friday there is a 'vrijdagmiddagborrel' in the office where everybody can grab a beer or take a glass of wine and have a nice chat with each other at the bar.

A MONDAY AT THE OFFICE

We start the week on Monday at 9 AM. I'm always 10 minutes too early, so then I make myself a cup of tea and start reading my mails.

At 9.15 AM, everyone gathers in the 'kantine' for the weekly update about Joolz. From 9 AM until 11 AM there is also a silent period to respect the concentration for others.

Normally, on Friday I made a list of what need to be done on Monday. In that way I keep track of everything and I won't forget anything. I also have a notebook where every task is written in two categories: priority and less urgent. In the beginning I didn't do this and so I dind't have a view of what was already finished, what was urgent and what needed to be followed up.

At 12.30 AM it's lunch time. My lunch always contains the same: bread, hummus, old cheese, salad and tomatoes and on the side a soup of the day accompanying with the hot snack of the day.

We have a lunch for half an hour which I think is more than enough. I prefer to eat in half an hour and be half an hour earlier at home. So at 01.00 PM it's back to work until 05.30 PM. But on Monday I always work 20 minutes longer because Monday is also work-out-day.

From 06.00 PM until 07.00 PM I do a work-out accompanied with some other colleagues and under the strict eye of the Joolz-coach.

And that is how a Monday at Joolz looks like for me.
