This weekend the parents of my boyfriend came to visit me in Amsterdam, and of course my boyfriend himself as well. Kathleen and Pol, which is their name, stayed at the Volkshotel at the Wibautstraat which is only five minutes of my place. So they checked in, dropped their stuff in the hotelroom and came to my apartment to check the place out. Kathleen used to live in Amsterdam as well when she was 24 years old, back then she was a stewardess and worked for KLM, so she wasn't surprised of how little our apartment is.

Before we left for lunch, Pol, Kathleen and Fabian rented a bike. It's the easiest and most fun way to move from one place to another. So after a ride of 20 minutes we arrived at Instock.

WHATTT

Instock is a restaurant that creates dishes from food surplus. They pick up their products from producers such as fish traders and meat packages. They want to make more people aware that throwing away food doesn't only cost money, but also the energy that has been put into the cultivation, the packaging, ... of the food goes to waste just as well!

THE FOODDD

All four of us took the Chef's special which was eventually a soup of brocolli, waffles made out of leftover croissants, leftover toasts with a salad on the side and some fish mousse.

If you want to stop foodwasting, go check it out: https://www.instock.nl/
