The only thing I didn’t eat yet in Amsterdam, until today, was Mexican food. Mexican is also one of my fav cuisines, I cook Mexican dishes such as chili con carne and burritos every two weeks. I’m so addicted to these dishes! Because Mexican food is more like fast food, I do try to make it healthy. I use cauliflower rice instead of white rice, salad leaves instead of wraps, … BUUUTTTT on the weekends I skip my healthy habits.
WHATTT
As it was my birthday on Monday, 30th of April, this was another birthday weekend. My boyfriend and I went to AribaAriba, a Mexican restaurant in the Jordaan. It’s a very cool place but it's crowded, I must say. I love those kind of places because there are always good vibes but if you don’t like it, I wouldn’t recommend it.
AribaAriba is a shared dining restaurant, of course if you don’t want to share you can order your own dishes but that isn’t that cosy, right? They recommend four dishes in total so that’s what we, real foodies, ordered.
THE FOODDD
We chose the pollo tacos which were three soft mini tortillas filled with chicken, salsa roja, avocado, whipped cream and mole; the pollo quesadillas which were half folded tortillas filled with chicken and melted cheese served with a spice bean dip; the carne asada tostadas which were three crispy mini tortillas filled with beef, coriander, red onion and salsa verde. The last dish we took was of course the como burro en prima vera burrito which was filled with beef, cheese, cowboy beans, rice and salsa roja. God yes, all of this tasted like heaven!
