Because this is my first HOTSPOT I visited in Amsterdam, you should know that Asian food is one of my favourites. You'll rarely read about typical Dutch food so if you also love international cuisine, then you're at the right spot.
WHATTT
Happyhappyjoyjoy is a place in Amsterdam where Bangkok, Saigon and Hong Kong come together. You can taste al five flavours: sweet, sour, salty, bitter and umami.
The decoration of the restaurant is inspired by the typical Asian local markets and busy streets. Once you're inside, you forget that you're in Amsterdam.

Happyhappyjoyjoy's menu is not a traditional one. It is not the menu where you choose a starter, a main and a dessert. The idea is share dining. I visited this spot with my boyfriend so we took three dishes as this was recommended to start with.
THE FOODDD
As an appetizer, the kroepoek could not be missing of course. The kroepoek was accompanied by a delish dipping based on soy sauce.

While eating our kroepoek we tried to make a choice of what we were going to order. You can choose of 38 different Asian dishes. Luckily my boyfriend is also a foodie and we love the same things so we easily agreed what to pick.
We started with the DUCK GYOZA. I'm not a big fan of duck, but because it was minced I agreed to take this. I'm a real minced meat kinda girl. The price was 7 euros for three gyozas. A bit expensive but you must know it takes some time to make this fresh.

We also ordered GAI PAD MED MAMUANG HIMMAPAN. You're probably thinking what is that? It's stir-fried chicken, cashew nuts, chilli, oyster sauce, bell pepper and it's served with jasmine rice. The third dish we tried was KENG PHED NEAU, a spicy red curry with beef, baby corn, Thai basil, fresh green beans, lime leaf and also served with jasmine rice.
